PITTSBURGH (AP) – A man who owns a smoking lounge popular with Pittsburgh’s college crowd has been convicted of sexually assaulting a nursing student in his car.

Twenty-five-year-old Ijaz Khokhar was convicted Thursday by an Allegheny County judge of forcible involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and sexual assault. The judge acquitted him of rape, kidnapping and unlawful restraint.

County prosecutors say Khokhar offered the Duquesne University student a ride after she lost her cellphone and came into his business, the Southside Hookah Lounge, about 1:30 a.m. March 16.

Prosecutors say Khokhar locked the doors to his car and drove around demanding she perform a sex act before he’d let her leave. The woman eventually complied.

Khokhar’s defense attorney declined comment Friday.

A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
