3 in W.Va. convicted on heroin trafficking counts

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Three people convicted of heroin trafficking in Harrison County face decades in prison and millions in fines.
The U.S. attorney’s office said the three were convicted Monday in federal court in Clarksburg.
They included 62-year-old Billy Cunningham Sr. of Clarksburg. He pleaded guilty to distributing heroin within 1,000 feet of an elementary school and playground. He could be sentenced from one to 40 years in prison and fined up to $2 million.
The other defendants are 40-year-old Robert G. Emerson and 35-year-old Waneta K. Cunningham, both of Clarksburg. Each faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.
The convictions were announced by U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II.
