Women charged in sting
Two women were arrested Friday in Chartiers Township on warrants obtained by a detective with the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force charging them with prostitution and conspiracy.
Nicole Brokaw, 31, of Perkins Lane, Burgettstown, and Shiann Huseman, 24, of Buckingham Road, Fredericktown, were taken into custody Friday afternoon on the charges filed June 30.
Detective Johnathan Miller saw an advertisement in July 2014 on the Internet and said he recognized Brokaw.
She allegedly told him previously she posted on the website for the purpose of soliciting prostitution customers.
The ad reportedly gave a cellphone number, and Brokaw allegedly invited callers to join her and “newbie friends for some adult fun.” Brokaw then went on to describe her specialties, police said.
Detective Robert Lemons called the number and reportedly talked with Brokaw.
The conversation was digitally recorded by Miller, who is certified under the state’s wiretap law. Lemons made arrangements July 29, 2014, to meet Brokaw and her friend, later identified as Huseman, at a business on Jefferson Avenue in Washington.
Police said the two got into Lemons’ vehicle, and they reportedly discussed what would happen as they drove on Jefferson, with the women believing they were headed toward a hotel room.
The vehicle was stopped on West Chestnut by other task force detectives. Detectives obtained information on their names and addresses before releasing them.
They were picked up Friday and arraigned on the charges before District Judge Jay Weller.
Brokaw, who also is charged with criminal solicitation, was released from Washington County jail Friday night after posting $5,000 bond.
Huseman remained in jail Monday on $5,000 bond. Both face Oct. 7 preliminary hearings before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
