Venetia man, 20, dies after fall into pond
A 20-year-old Venetia man was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon in the emergency room of Canonsburg Hospital, the victim of a likely accidental fall into the family’s pond.
According to a release from Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco, Peter Teris was on his Fox Run Road property when a caregiver witnessed him fall into the pond about 3:30 p.m. Teris, who was diagnosed with a seizure disorder, was removed from the pond by the caregiver, who administered CPR and notified 911.
He was transported to Canonsburg Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:18 p.m.
Warco believes the death was accidental, though the cause and manner of death are pending.
The death is under investigation by Peters Township Police Department.
