WAYNESBURG – Five criminal defendants were entered into the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program Monday by Greene County Judge Louis Dayich.
Those accepted into the program must serve at least one year probation and pay all fines and costs. Defendants charged with driving under the influence of alcohol also may have their driving privileges suspended.
Those who successfully complete the program can petition the court to have their records expunged.
Tamela J. Wise, 47, of 121 Liveasy Road, Carmichaels, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and two summary traffic violations; arrested Oct. 3, Wise refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test.
Austin Henry Postma, 22, of Mt. Angel, Ore., charged with DUI and four summary traffic violations; arrested July 30, Postma had a blood-alcohol content level of .085 percent.
Judy Sue Ross, 62, of 132 Sigsbee Road, Greensboro, charged with simple assault, harassment and recklessly endangering another person; on Sept. 3, Ross threatened a man with a gun during an argument at 3 Hilltop Court, Greensboro. She was entered into the program for two years.
John Edward Thomas Jr., 44, of 397 Hillcrest Ave., Waynesburg, charged with DUI and three summary violations; arrested Aug. 7, Thomas had a BAC of .202 percent.
Aaron Joseph Stout, 29, of Wyoming, N.Y., charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and two summary traffic violations; a small amount of marijuana and a pipe were found in his vehicle when he was stopped on Interstate 79 for speeding June 26.
