PennDot to discuss 2 bridge projects
The state Department of Transportation will hold public meetings next week on plans being developed to rehabilitate two Greene County bridges next year.
The work will focus on bridges on Bald Hill Church Road over Dunkard Creek in Dunkard Township and West Run Road over Browns Fork in Morris Township.
Open house meetings on the proposed design plans will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday at Greene County Maintenance Office, 186 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg. PennDOT representatives will be on hand to explain the projects and take comments.
Work on both bridges is not expected to begin until the spring or summer of 2017.
The proposed scope of the Dunkard Township bridge project will include the replacement of the bridge beams, deck and barriers as well as miscellaneous bridge preservation activities. .
The project will take six to eight weeks to complete and require a detour of about 11 miles.
The proposed scope of the Morris Township project includes the replacement of the bridge deck and barrier and miscellaneous preservation activities.
This project is expected to take about six weeks to complete and will require a detour of about 15 miles in length.
The maintenance office is accessible to people who have disabilities. Anyone requiring special aid is asked to contact PennDOT before the meeting.
