From left, Waynesburg police Chief Rob Toth and officers Tom Ankrom and Shawn Woods show support for Morgan Yoney, the 21-year-old Spraggs woman who has been waiting for a double-lung transplant for nearly two years. As a baby, Morgan was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder in which the lungs and digestive system are clogged with mucus, often resulting in liver and lung transplants. Ankrom, who has known Morgan since 2011, said the officers wrote “0+ lungs needed for Morgan Yoney” on the back of four police vehicles two weeks ago to show support. “People are always looking at police vehicles when they’re on the road, so I figured I’m going to turn it into a mobile billboard for Morgan,” Ankrom said.
