Washington police are investigating the second rash of vehicles being entered and items stolen in less than a week.

The thefts were reported on North Franklin, West Chestnut and East and West Katherine.

Some vehicle owners reported their vehicles had been rifled through, but nothing was stolen. Items stolen included a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, an amplifier, speakers, change and a wallet.

Residents of the West End and Seventh Ward areas of the city reported their vehicles were entered late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Several global positioning units along with a gun were reported stolen from those vehicles.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call city police at 724-223-4226.
