Road work slated in Greene County

The state Department of Transportation has announced the tentative work schedule for Greene County roads starting Monday.

Maintenance activities are conducted weather permitting. Motorists should drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights, Greene County Maintenance Manager Jerry Simkovic said.

• Bridge replacement work will be done on Route 1017 in Jefferson and in Cumberland townships.

• Bridge flushing will be conducted on various routes in Greene County including Interstate 79 near Waynesburg.

• Shoulder work and base repairs will be completed on various routes in Gilmore, Jackson, Springhill, Aleppo and Freeport townships.

• Potholes will be spray patched on various routes throughout the county.

• Side dozing, pipe flushing and shoulder work will continue on state Route 2011 in Dunkard and Greene townships.

• Crack sealing will be done on state Route 2003 in Perry and Whiteley townships.

• Bridge scour repairs will begin on various routes in Greene, Morgan and Washington townships.

• State roads will be inspected and signs updated, downed signs will be replaced and other concerns addressed on state roads throughout the county.
