Maggi signs Range consent
A Washington County commissioner is among the known owners of oil and gas rights on a 111-acre tract in Buffalo Township who’ve given the OK for CNB Bank to act as a trustee for the unidentified heirs to the rights on the land.
Commissioner Larry Maggi signed one of 24 copies of a consent order filed Monday in county court that allows CNB Bank, formerly County National Bank of Clearfield, to administer a trust for owners of oil and gas rights on the land.
Range Resources-Appalachia LLC asked Washington County Court in a petition filed in January to allow CNB Bank to act as trustee for the unknown heirs.
The owners who signed consented to Range Resources’ proposal the bank be allowed to execute and deliver oil, natural gas and coalbed methane leases on the land.
The tract has been divided into 20 separate tax parcels ranging from ½ to 38 acres.
Maggi’s “undivided fractional ownership interest” is listed in the petition filed by Range Resources as 7/1,152.
He and the other known owners signed the consent order earlier this year. It allows CNB Bank to act on behalf of the still-unidentified heirs of Helen Bane, Elizabeth Hertig Chapman Pruess, Ethel Irene Park, Ulysses Hertig, Wyit E. Wright Jr., Robert E. Wright and Von E. Wright.
Known heirs have been found in the area, other parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, New York, Florida, Texas, Tennessee and Calgary, Canada.
