LIGONIER (AP) – Authorities say a wrong-way collision between a tractor-trailer and a car in Western Pennsylvania that left one person dead was deliberate.

The crash happened just before midnight on Monday in Ligonier Township. Police Chief Michael Matrunics says a man who had gotten into an argument with his wife said he was going to kill himself and drove into the tractor-trailer.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Hazmat crews were called to clean up about 800 gallons of diesel fuel leaking from the crash.

Authorities didn’t immediately identify the victim.
