A community dinner will be held Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Rogersville United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall. The meal will include meatloaf, parsley potatoes, corn, applesauce, dessert and beverage. Dinner is free, but donations are accepted. Carryout is available and everyone welcome. The Kids’ Safety Fair will be held Friday, May 6, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Carmichaels First United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall at 104 W. South St. There will be face painting, snacks and crafts, and children can view a fire truck. There will be free safety materials and information from many county businesses and agencies. Anyone from the public is welcome to attend.
The spring cleanup day for the Lantz Cemetery, located on Morris Run less than a quarter-mile from the Dunkard Valley Gun Club near Brave, will take place on Saturday, May 7 beginning at 8 a.m. If anyone is interested in supporting this work with hands-on labor or financial donations, mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, gasoline, cold drinking water or iced tea, please attend.
