Person shot in Burgettstown
According to McDonald police Chief Mark Dorsey, a male in his mid-to-late 30s was shot outside a home in Burgettstown Wednesday night.
The shooting occurred about 9:09 p.m. in front of 5 Hillcrest Ave., according to Dorsey, who said one shot was fired.
The victim, who is from McKees Rocks and was reported to have gone to the address to see an ex-girlfriend, was transported by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
A male suspect is in custody, and a male who arrived at the home with the victim was being questioned by police but was not under arrest.
A knife and a small-caliber gun were found at the scene by police.
Police departments from McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township and Hanover Township assisted, as did a state police forensics services unit.
Investigators were seen taking photographs of a dark car parked in front of the house.
