Transformer catches fire

South Strabane Township firefighters were called about 11 p.m. Tuesday when a transformer caught fire near Washington Penn Plastics, 2080 N. Main St.

Fire Chief Scott Reese said firefighters were on the scene for almost two hours. West Penn Power crews made repairs to the transformer.
