Police beat Aug. 5
Threat alleged: Mark B. Lucas, 64, of 167 E. Hillsboro Road, Amwell, was charged Monday by state police with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. He is accused of brandishing a firearm and threatening two EQT workers after a truck backed into his driveway July 11 to allow another truck to pass. He also allegedly threatened to “pop” any other worker who came onto his property. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
DUI, drug charges: Arissa Lynn Dunn, 19, of 900 McGovern Road, Chartiers Township, was charged Monday by state police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, careless driving and other traffic violations stemming from a July 3 traffic stop on Route 40 near Green Valley Road, Buffalo. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
DUI charges: Russell I. Porter, 46, of 489 Wayne St., Canton Township, was charged Monday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance as well as traffic violations after police said he was found in his vehicle, stuck in the median of Interstate 70. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Parts stolen: State police said parts valued at $12,000 to $15,000 were reported stolen July 23 from trailers owned by Roberts Trucking, 406 Route 519, Somerset. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.
Items stolen: William E. Schau Jr., 34, of Wheeling, W.Va., was charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with retail theft after he allegedly stole items valued at $211 from Lowe’s, Strabane Square, the previous day. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charge: Cory Michalewicz, 27, of 34 Griffith Ave., Canton Township, was charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with retail theft after he allegedly stole five pairs of pants from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, last month and then tried unsuccessfully to return them for a gift card. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Forgery, theft charges: Daniel McCullough, 37, of Pittsburgh, was charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with forgery, theft by deception and identity theft after he allegedly signed another man’s name on a receipt at Kohl’s, Strabane Square, in an attempt to get a refund while making a fraudulent return June 23. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft of services charge: Walter Holt III, 26, of 150 W. Palm St., North Franklin Township, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with theft of services. He reportedly had his vehicle repaired at Washington Chevrolet, 1 Raymond Boulevard, in June. When he picked it up, he reportedly told an employee his insurance company would send a check for the repairs. An insurance company representative told the dealership they sent Holt a check he cashed. Police said Holt failed to pay the dealership. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Charged with assault: Billy Lee Burnett Jr., 28, of 2 Brandenburg Lane, Claysville, was charged Monday by state police with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. He is accused of hitting Justin D. Carlisle of Washington in the head with a can or bottle of beer as Carlisle was sitting on a log at a bonfire on Beham Ridge Road, West Finley, June 12. Police said Carlisle required reconstructive surgery. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
