PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County district attorney dropped charges against a 28-year-veteran Pittsburgh police officer and her aunt in a funeral home fracas because they won’t testify against one another.

Forty-nine-year-old Officer Tracy Schweitzer and 62-year-old Suzanne Troy were charged after fighting at a family viewing July 29.

Schweitzer told investigators her dead aunt didn’t want Troy there, so Troy lifted her dress and told Schweitzer to kiss her behind – while both were standing at the casket.

Police said the women blame one another for a subsequent fight in the hallway of the funeral home, which prompted the simple assault charges.

DA’s spokesman Mike Manko said witnesses couldn’t identify an aggressor so the charges couldn’t stand without the suspects’ testimony.

Schweitzer’s attorney said it was “just a family matter.”
