A Hanover Township couple was charged by township police with disorderly conduct after a call to their home last week prompted a search of a nearby wooded area out of concern for their safety.

Daniel J. Fisher, 32, and Kristen Marie Fisher, 34, both of 432 Paris-Colliers Road, Burgettstown, had the charges filed against them Wednesday at the office of District Judge Gary Havelka as a result of the July 29 incident.

Police were dispatched just after 7 p.m. to their home for a report of a woman in a seizure. While en route, police learned the woman, later identified as Kristen Fisher, was locked inside the residence. Police also learned it was actually a report of an ongoing domestic dispute.

When police arrived, Daniel Fisher, who outside the home with his mother-in-law and firefighters, was gone but left behind his wallet.

No one answered a knock at the door and because of the possible medical issue, police entered the home to search for Kristen Fisher. Police found no one inside the house, but spotted an open window. A mirrored sliding closet door was shattered and some furniture was turned over. A damaged flat-screen television was on the floor.

Kristen Fisher called police and told the officer she and her husband went into the woods. Officer Amanda Brewer told Fisher she needed to see her to make sure she was OK. Kristen Fisher refused.

The Hanover fire department and emergency medical personnel started to search the area with infrared binoculars. After different agencies searched the woods for about two hours, the Fishers came out. Kristen Fisher reportedly told police she lied about having a seizure. The Fishers were not cooperative and argumentative.

Both will have a Sept. 22 preliminary hearing before Havelka.
