Warrant arrest: David Durbin, 27, of 2740 1/2 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was taken into custody Wednesday on a warrant on a charge of carrying a firearm without a license after he was found with a loaded pistol during a Dec. 15 traffic stop on The Road, Canton. He was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. There are also two bench warrants against him.

Child endangerment, assault charges: Jason M. Southern, 30, of 705 Longvue Drive, Chartiers, was charged Thursday by Chartiers police with simple assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of children for allegedly punching the 10-year-old son of his girlfriend as the two were in a vehicle driving from Canonsburg to Southern’s home. The boy told police Southern also tried to break his wrist and threatened to kill him if he told anyone what happened. Southern was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald and placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond.

Receiving, theft charge: Patrick J. Patrene, 41, of 114 Donahoe St., Avella, was charged this week by state police with theft from a vehicle and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing various prescription medication from a vehicle parked July 17 at 672 Old Ridge Road, Cross Creek. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.

Assault charges: Bruce A. Vargo, 35, of West Mifflin, was charged last week by Hanover police with two counts each of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct in the alleged assault of Luke and Kara Ickes on July 23 at First Niagara Pavilion. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.

Drug charges: Fred A. Sapp, 61, of Washington, was charged Thursday by state police with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop Monday at the intersection of Routes 18 and 221, Morris. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

Disorderly arrest: Thomas Pantaleono, 27, of 201 Fieldbrook Drive, Canonsburg, was arrested Wednesday by Washington police after he allegedly was walking in the 100 block of Gibson Avenue, drinking gin and screaming. He was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald on a charge of disorderly conduct. He was released from Washington County jail Thursday after posting $1,500 bond.

Harassment, disorderly charge: Cedric Sutton, 28, of 418 Fifth St., Donora, was charged Thursday by Washington police with harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly drove his vehicle at Ronnie Avance of Washington in a parking lot at 1165 W. Chestnut St. Earlier in the day, Avance reported the tires on his vehicle were damaged while it was parked at 201 Jefferson Ave.

Disorderly charge: Ross Howley, 50, of 984 Jefferson Ave., was charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct after he repeatedly called the 911 dispatch center Thursday. He reported made threats to dispatchers and used obscene language.
