Police beat Aug. 9
Ladder theft: State police said someone stole a 14-foot aluminum ladder from a residence in the 600 block of Walnut Hill Road in Dunkard Township between July 28 and Aug. 4.
House burglarized: State police said $600 in change was stolen from a bedroom of a house in the 200 block of Moffit Road in Dunkard Township July 7 or 8.
Criminal mischief: The back door of Disabled American Veterans Club at 2600 Smith Creek Road was damaged during an attempted break-in July 16, state police said.
Man charged with theft: More charges were filed against Logan John Miller, 29, of 260 W. High St., Waynesburg, who was accused last week of hitting a man with his truck. State police charged Miller last week with theft for allegedly stealing $900 worth of yard equipment, including a push and a riding mower, pressure washer, and wood loading ramps, from Janet Barone on July 15, according to court documents. Police said Miller planned to give the equipment to a Spraggs resident, who did not know the items were stolen, in exchange for a vehicle transmission. Miller was charged last week by Waynesburg police for allegedly striking a man with his truck July 12, and police are still looking for him. He was driving a 1993 red Ford Ranger pickup truck and anyone with information on Miller’s location is asked to call borough police at 724-627-8113 or state police at 724-627-6151.
Tire damaged: The tire of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of West High Street in Waynesburg was intentionally damaged by a person between 3 and 6 a.m. Friday, state police said.
Rollover crash: Denise L. Sasser, 58, of Pittsburgh, was cited by state police for speeding following a rollover crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 79 shortly before 6 p.m. July 31. Neither Sasser nor her two passengers, including a 4-year-old, were injured when the car traveled into the grassy median and struck an embankment, causing it to roll over before landing on its right side, police said.
