A woman who overdosed on heroin on a Donora sidewalk over the weekend and a surveillance camera near a house where the drug was reportedly purchased led to Tuesday’s arrest by borough police of two people on drug charges.

Jeffery L. Carlock, 22, of 441 Claredon Ave., Monessen, and Tationa Pirt, 20, of 827 McKean Ave., Donora, were charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin. Carlock, who was also wanted on a bench warrant, is also charged with possession of marijuana and false identification to police.

Police were called Sunday to the 800 block of Allen Avenue for a report of a drug overdose. Police found a 31-year-old Donora woman unresponsive and not breathing. An officer administered Naloxone and she started breathing on her own. She was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment.

The woman’s boyfriend told police the two had just purchased eight stamp bags of heroin from a home in the borough. The 26-year-old Donora man told police he called a cellphone and talked with a man he knew only as Jeff or “Heffe” to purchase the eight stamp bags for $60.

The man said he met Jeff at the rear of 827 McKean to get the drug and that he had been buying from him for the last several months. He was able to identify Carlock through surveillance of 827 McKean.

While conducting surveillance of the home, police observed a suspected drug transaction.

The vehicle was stopped and one of the occupants admitted to purchasing heroin from Carlock.

Police obtained a search warrant for 827 McKean. Police stopped Carlock after seeing him leave in a vehicle. He told police that his name was Jabar. When Carlock got out of the vehicle, police spotted a bag of suspected heroin. Inside the vehicle, registered to Pirt, police found 133 stamp bags.

Inside Pirt’s home, police found 237 stamp bags of suspected heroin. Pirt, who was not home at the time of the search, went to the police station to find out what was going on and was taken into custody.

Both were arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson. Carlock is in Washington County jail on $30,000 bond. Pirt is in jail on $15,000 bond. Both are scheduled for a Sept. 1 preliminary hearing before District Judge Mark Wilson.
