Police beat Aug. 12
Liquor violation: The operator of New Bentleyville Tavern, 843 Main St., was cited for refilling liquor bottles by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for an alleged violation on July 5.
Cellphone stolen: Heather Vehar, of 1375 Paxton Farms Road, told Chartiers police Tuesday her Samsung Galaxy cellphone was stolen.
Warrant arrest: Tyler D. Dolanch, 25, of 5020 Tyler Ave., Finleyville, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant obtained by Monongahela police on charges of access device fraud and theft. He is accused of stealing a debit card owned by his former girlfriend, Mary King of Finleyville, in February and using it to withdraw $186. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $1,500 bond.
Assault, drunkenness arrest: Anastasia I. Mayernik, 19, of Belle Vernon, was arrested Wednesday night by Hanover police at First Niagara Pavilion. Police said she was highly intoxicated and twice punched a Washington County sheriff’s deputy. She was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, underage drinking and public drunkenness. She was released on unsecured bond.
Liquor violation: The operator of the Ukrainian Literary and Beneficial Association, 57 Schoonmaker Ave., was cited last week by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for failing to maintain complete records for two years of small games of chance.
Drug charges: Kelly F. Kaveney, 41, of 118 Main St., Claysville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after being found unresponsive Monday in her car in Bob Evans restaurant parking lot, 1380 W. Chestnut St. Medics administered Narcan to revive her and transported her to Washington Hospital. A syringe and stamp bags of suspected heroin were found in the car. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft arrest: Malachi C. Simmons, 44, of 571 Coal St., Pittsburgh, was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking a home entertainment system and two jackets, worth $367, from Sears, 1500 W. Walnut St., on Aug. 4. According to North Franklin Township police, Simmons was located shortly after fleeing on foot from the store. He was placed in Washington County jail on a bench warrant.
Stolen property: Justin O. Brown, 32, of 890 Duncan Ave., Washington, was charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly selling a gaming console to a store in Washington Crown Center mall was reported stolen to Washington police. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft charge: Curtis C. Sadler, 54, of 360 E. Hallam Ave., Washington, was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking price tags off of items Monday in Walgreens, 99 Jefferson Ave. He allegedly admitted to also taking headphones from their packaging. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Threat charge: Rondell Johnson, 36, of 1054 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was charged with making terroristic threats, criminal mischief and two counts of reckless endangerment for a July 3 incident in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue. According to Washington police, Johnson grabbed a woman by her shirt and threatened her with a knife. He allegedly broke a window in her home when she ran inside. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
