Gas driller dies

A West Virginia man died after leaving a gas well site in search of medical attention Saturday afternoon.

According to a Washington County Coroner’s report, Scott Henry McClure, 39, of Nettie, was working at the site when he left to seek medical attention for cardiac symptoms. At 3:45 p.m., McClure lost control of his vehicle, traveling through multiple yards in Carroll Township.

McClure was transported to Mon Valley Hospital emergency room, where he was pronounced dead at 4:51 p.m.

McClure’s manner and cause of death are pending autopsy, but Coroner Tim Warco suspected a medical event.

Carroll Township police are investigating.
