How many supervisors for 1 worker?
It’s normal for, say, five workers to have one supervisor, but not the other way around, like what appears in this week’s Mystery Photo.
Actually, we think this group of people might have been touring a manufacturing plant and observing how something was made. The problem with this misfiled photo from the Observer-Reporter’s archives is that we don’t know who the people are and what factory they were visiting. We’re hoping our readers can help us identify them and the workplace.
We do know that the photo was taken in January 1982. It might have been one of many pictures considered for publication in the newspaper’s Progress Edition, published annually in February through most of the 20th century.
If you think you know who these folks are or where they were, email Park Burroughs, retired executive editor, at pburroughs@observer-reporter.com, or call and leave a message for him at 724-222-2200, extension 2400. With a little luck and assistance from our readers, we may be able to solve this mystery and publish our findings next Monday.
