Jefferson woman charged with slashing man
A Jefferson woman was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly slicing a man’s wrist and finger with a knife over the weekend, state police said Monday.
Misty Lynn Davis, 48, of 114 Kurtz Lane, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment following an incident that happened Sunday afternoon and continued through early Monday at her residence.
Police said Misty Davis allegedly struck Jeffrey Davis, 46, of Jefferson, in the eye with a wooden baseball bat and cut his right wrist and left pinky finger with a kitchen knife.
It was unclear what their relationship was and the investigating trooper could not be reached for comment Monday.
According to court documents, Misty Davis also poured lighter fluid on the floor in the living room and kitchen and threatened to light it on fire.
Jeffrey Davis told police he left the home for a while and when he returned hours later, Misty Davis pulled out the knife again and threatened that “if he fell asleep, he would not be waking up,” investigators wrote in court documents.
Police said Misty Davis left the residence on foot, and she had not yet been arrested as of Monday afternoon.
Jeffrey Davis had a cut and swelling under his eye from the baseball bat assault and a 2-inch cut on his wrist and a cut on his finger from being slashed, police said.
Police did not say if he was treated medically for his injuries.
