Theft reported: Janet Moreau of 207 Center Ave., Burgettstown, told McDonald police Friday her window air-conditioning unit was stolen from the front window of her apartment.
Boy bitten: Police said a 12-year-old Burgettstown boy was bitten Wednesday in the leg and back by a Labrador retriever owned by Heather L. May of 203 Center Ave., Burgettstown. The dog reportedly got out of the house when the owner’s daughter went to remove the mail from the mailbox. The boy was treated at the scene by Fort Cherry Ambulance personnel. The state dog warden was notified.
DUI, underage drinking charges: A charge of driving under the influence was filed against Kristin Stroka, 20, of Fairchance, after she was stopped Monday for allegedly driving without headlights near the intersection of Third and Wood streets. According to California police, Stroka failed field sobriety and Breathalyzer tests. Ryan D. Kuhn, 20, of Pittsburgh, and Morgan Predmore, 19, of New Kensington, passengers in the vehicle, were cited for underage drinking.
Cellphone stolen: Pamela Brozik of Canonsburg told Canonsburg police her 9-year-old grandson’s cellphone was stolen while he was at Big Mac Stadium Saturday.
Warrant arrest: Joseph L. Kovac IV, 33, of Irwin, was taken into custody Friday by Canonsburg police on a Westmoreland County bench warrant. He was placed in Washington County jail.
Charged with assault: Koree Minnie, 19, of 606 Reed Ave., Monessen, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. Police accuse Minnie of slamming an 8-year-old’s head into a brick wall after accusing the child of stealing his bag about 9 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 1000 block of Long Alley. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges Monday in a summons.
Assault alleged: Lawrence Martin, 54, of 410 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault and harassment, court records show. Police accuse Martin of striking Allison Dunn in the head, causing her to fall to the ground, before stealing her cellphone’s battery about 3 a.m. July 23. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued a warrant Monday for Martin’s arrest.
Resisting, disorderly arrest: Robert Patrick Bassich, 35, of 12 Miner Ave., Fallowfield, was arrested Saturday night by state police on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after he allegedly sent threatening text messages to his neighbor. The neighbor told police that Bassich was intoxicated. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
Oil dumped: Midway firefighters, Weavertown Environmental Group, the state Department of Environmental Protection and McDonald police responded when oil that had been in two drums outside Midway Mini Mart, 101 St. Johns St., Midway, was dumped on the ground Saturday morning. It is not clear if charges are going to be filed against a McDonald man who allegedly dumped the oil.
Two charged: Jerome Pryor, 30, of 1218 Summit Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct stemming from a traffic stop about 2:45 a.m. Friday in Highland Manor, court records show. Police also charged Shawn D. Taylor, 44, of Pittsburgh, with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct over accusations he screamed at officers involved in the traffic stop. The charges were filed Friday before District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Arson: State police said a fire that damaged a house trailer on Mancha Street, North Bethlehem, Sunday afternoon was set. The trailer is owned by Gary and Drema Daniels of Eighty Four. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.
Stalking: Donovan Nazar Patterson, 19, of 212 Lincoln Terrace, faces charges by summons of terroristic threats, harassment and stalking for a series of incidents reported Friday by Shelby Jacko of 1100 W. Chestnut St. in which Patterson allegedly drove by yelling on several occasions and shot off rounds from an air-powered handgun that looked like a real gun, North Franklin police said.
Receiving stolen goods charges: Michael Eugene Gardner, 46, and Timothy Joe Gardner, 48, both of 463 Broad St., Washington, face charges of receiving stolen property for allegedly selling a chainsaw known to be stolen on Saturday to Buy and Sell Outlet at 172 S. Main St., North Franklin police said.
Mischief reported: Tim Barr of 184 Jollick Manor told Washington police Sunday the screen door of his home was damaged and the hood of his vehicle was dented. Charges are pending.
Television stolen: A 70-inch television and $2 were reported stolen Sunday in a burglary at the home of Kimberly Spangler, 350 Grove Ave., Washington police said.
Gun stolen: Henry Lacks of 585 Fayette St. told Washington police Saturday his .40-caliber Glock handgun was stolen from his bedroom closet.
Harassment, mischief charges: Eva Gilbert, 48, of 670 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was charged Saturday by Washington police with harassment and criminal mischief after she allegedly broke the front window at the home of Michael Kaempf of 1376 Jefferson.
Computers stolen: Three Acer laptop computers were reported stolen from a locked cabinet at Rent-A-Center, 132 W. Chestnut St., Washington. A manager at the store told police that the area is accessible only to employees. One of the computers was found at a Washington pawn shop.
Terroristic threats charges: Vernon Mace Patrick II, 30, of 113 Maple Ave., and Ethan Gordan, 23, of 110 E. Prospect Ave., face charges of terroristic threats and harassment for allegedly calling George Riley and threatening to kill him and saying they were watching him, Washington police said.
