McDonald police charged two borough brothers in connection with an incident outside their home earlier this month.

Thomas Gary Leadbitter, 28, and Jeremy Todd Leadbitter, 29, both of 133 Arabella St., both face charges of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Thomas Leadbitter also is charged with terroristic threats, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment stemming from the Aug. 12 incident.

Police received a tip from a caller who reported smelling marijuana and seeing three men passing what appeared to be a marijuana pipe. An officer responded and saw Jeremy Leadbitter on the porch with another man. Thomas Leadbitter reportedly came out of the house and was told to take a seat.

When Thomas Leadbitter tried to go back inside the house, he was again told to stay. He reportedly refused and continued into the home. When he was ordered out of the house, he reportedly threatened the officer. He also allegedly struggled with officers as they tried to take him into custody.

Both brothers reportedly had marijuana and paraphernalia.

Charges were sent by summons Monday from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald. The two are scheduled for an Oct. 6 preliminary hearing before McDonald.
