A Peters Township woman faces several charges stemming from two incidents Monday night, one outside The Meadows Casino and another along Route 19.

Mary Grace Gubala, 53, of 130 Elm Grove Road, McMurray, will be charged by North Strabane Township police with public drunkenness, pedestrian under the influence of alcohol, opening and closing vehicle doors, littering and disorderly conduct.

Township police were called to the casino just before 9 p.m. by security to assist a woman in finding her vehicle. The security officer told police the woman appeared to be intoxicated. Police found Gubala walking through a front ditch. When she saw police, she reportedly put her hands up.

Police assisted her up the hill. Police said she had difficulty standing and began to drop to the ground so she could “stretch out.” She was placed in the back of the cruiser.

Police called her husband to pick her up. He asked police to keep her or take her to jail because she left the house after fighting with family members. Police convinced him to come get his wife.

When he arrived, he told police that he was concerned because she frequently acts like this and usually jumps out of the car. Police assisted him in using the child locks on the rear doors of his vehicle so his wife could not jump out. A short time later, her husband called 911 to report his wife jumped out of the car on Route 19 near Weavertown Road. Police met with her husband, who said his wife was throwing things out the window, climbed into the front seat and jumped out the passenger door.

Police searched the area and could not find her. Her husband called police and said he found her walking north on Route 19, but she would not get in the car. Police found them in the 2600 block of Route 19. Police took her into custody and gave her a ride home, releasing her to her son and husband.
