Police Beat Aug. 24
Trespass, drunkenness charges: Anthony Joseph Tonkovich, 22, of Canonsburg, will be charged with criminal trespass and public drunkenness after he was found Saturday inside a home without permission at 319 Fifth St., California police said.
Disorderly house charges: Megan Goben, 20, of Browndale, Wayne County, and Corey Michael Kuzilla, 21, of Erie, will be charged by California police stemming from an incident early Sunday at 316 Green St. She will be charged with public drunkenness and underage driving after she allegedly was seen leaving a party at the residence. He will be charged with violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance for hosting the party.
Vehicle damaged: Gaye Patmon of 275 Vine St. told Canonsburg police Monday that vandals scratched the paint on the driver’s side door and quarter panel of her vehicle.
Drug case: David Lee Carden, 29, of 504 Manor Gate Lane, Collinsburg, Rostraver Township, is charged by state police with drug possession with intent to deliver and drug possession over allegations he sold a confidential informant working with police an undisclosed amount of heroin Feb. 17 in Carroll, court records show. The charges were filed Tuesday before District Judge Mark Wilson.
Woman jailed: Almondie D. Rawls, 37, of 806 Crest Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with simple assault, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called about 12:30 p.m. Sunday to 803 Fallowfield Ave. to investigate a drug overdose, court records show. Rawls is accused of causing a police officer to prick her finger with a syringe hidden in Rawls’ clothing and having another syringe loaded with either heroin or crack. Rawls went that day to Washington County jail on a parole detainer and was arraigned the following day by District Judge Larry Hopkins, who set her bond at $25,000. The resident of 803 Fallowfield, Tyler Minor Holmes, 22, also faces charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia over allegations he had a number of illegal pills when police were called to his home Sunday, court records show. Hopkins issued his case Tuesday in a summons.
Afghan stolen: Monica Boone of Dormont told Chartiers police Monday an afghan she entered at the Washington County Fair was stolen. She said the afghan, valued at $400, was gone when she went to pick it up Sunday.
Vehicle recovered: A 2006 Kia Sportage, reported stolen last month to Chartiers police by Jeff Federoff of 628 W. Grant St., was found Monday by Cecil Township police near Hendersonville Park.
Jeep stolen: Bobby Allen of 1172 Brush Run Road, Washington, told Chartiers police Saturday his yellow, soft-top 2000 Jeep Wrangler with oversized tires was stolen from the main lot at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
Drivers injured: Florence Molinko, 80, of 181 Morganza Road, Canonsburg, and Sherri Janov, 56, of 7 Hollow Drive, Canonsburg, were injured Saturday in a head-on crash on West Pike Street, Canonsburg, Chartiers police said. Molinko suffered a broken leg and Janov had a bloody nose, police said.
Vehicle stolen, recovered: Bill Jackson of 698 Donnan Ave, Washington, told Chartiers police Thursday his Cadillac SRX was stolen from the main lot at Washington County Fairgrounds. It was found Friday in a lot off Hickory Ridge Road near Washington County Health Center.
Woman jailed: Shalia L. Stitch, 27, of 162 Highland Ave., Donora, is charged by borough police with endangering the welfare of children, obstruction, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, court records show. Police accuse Stitch of using her 2-year-old child as a shield when an officer attempted to use a Taser to take her into custody about 11:10 a.m. Monday outside of her residence. She also is accused of injuring an officer’s hand during the disturbance. Stich is in Washington County jail on $35,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Traffic stop: Jorge E. Arreola, 55, of 512 Lincoln St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence and driving under the influence of a controlled substance, court records show. Police accuse Arreola of eating marijuana after his vehicle was stopped about 6:50 p.m. Aug. 17 in the 400 block of West Main Street. He will receive his case in a summons sent Tuesday from the office of District Judge Mark Wilson.
Assault arrest: Michael Edward Bloom, 34, of 508 Isabella Ave., North Charleroi, was arrested Monday by Charleroi Regional police on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of assaulting his wife, Erica Bloom, during a confrontation at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. She was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment along with their 4-year-old child, who police said was accidentally pushed into a wall and hit his head. Police said the boy did not appear to be injured.
Drug case: Steven J. Kurty, 30, of 5 Latta Hollow Road, Roscoe, is charged by state police with drug possession with intent to deliver and drug possession over allegations he sold a confidential informant working with police 100 Oxycodone pills for $400 in Roscoe May 27, 2014, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued charges Tuesday in a summons.
Charged in assault: Russell Odell Southall, who Washington police said is homeless, was arrested Monday on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment. He is accused of assaulting George Ankrom, 48, of Washington, outside the police station. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Home burglarized: Rebecca Lechner of 121 W. Walnut St. told Washington police Monday a refrigerator, washer, chair, couch and two end tables were stolen in a burglary of her home.
Bicycles stolen: Mark Jones of 720 Ewing St. told Washington police Monday three bicycles were stolen from outside his home.
Window broken: An employee at Four Star Pizza, 860 Jefferson Ave., told Washington police Monday a large rock was thrown through the window on the Tyler Avenue side of the building.
Tires slashed: David Smith of 450 Third St. told Washington police Monday two tires were slashed on his vehicle.
ATV found: A green all-terrain vehicle with orange and black wheel rims was found in a wooded area near Route 40 and Suzy Lane in early July, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-929-6262.
