Greene County community events
There will be a Flashlight Drags event this Sunday at Greene County Airport near Waynesburg. Although it was not originally scheduled as part of the drag-racing season, the date is now a make-up for the Aug. 21 race, which was canceled because of weather.
A bowling reorganization meeting for the Tuesday Women’s League will be held at Yanak’s Bowling Lane at 7 p.m. Tuesday. All interested women are invited to attend. Call Debra Jones at 724-833-2852 or Vickie Hopkins at 724-833-3645 for more information.
The Ealy/Huffman Reunion will be held Sept. 4 at Washington Township Park in Ruff Creek. The meal will be served at 1 p.m. Chicken, meatballs and drinks will be provided. Please bring your favorite covered dish and a gift for the Elephant Raffle, also if you’re going to donate a themed gift basket to raffle off. Games will be available for the kids.
The Waynesburg Senior Center has tickets for sale for a dinner and show at the East Franklin Grange on Sept. 10. Only 60 tickets are available for the show and cost $15 each. The meal will be cream chicken over biscuits, green beans, mashed potatoes, applesauce, dessert and drinks.
