Licensed food establishments in Pennsylvania now must employ one supervisory employee that has successfully completed a food safety training class, according to the state Department of Agriculture.

To help food establishments meet this requirement, Penn State Extension is offering a Food Safety Training Course.

The course will be held at the Greene County Penn State Extension Office in Waynesburg Sept. 12 to 19. Classes will run each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The examination will be held on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.

The course fee is $185 per person and covers the cost of the ServSafe course book, instructional materials and refreshment breaks.

Pre-registration is required. To register, log on to www.extension.psu.edu/food-safety/events and complete the required information. For those without internet access, register by contacting the Penn State Extension Office at 724-837-1402.
