State police investigating East Finley child-luring attempts
State police are looking for a woman who reportedly tried to lure two girls over the weekend in East Finley Township while the children were outside their home in the 1700 block of Pleasant Grove Road.
A 10-year-old girl told police that she was in the front yard between 6 and 6:10 p.m. Saturday when a woman with brown, shoulder-length hair and wearing a gray T-shirt pulled in front of the residence driving a gray, four-door vehicle.
The woman reportedly stared at the girl before driving off in the direction of Route 231.
About the same time on Sunday, the 10-year-old was again outside when the same woman, driving the same vehicle, pulled in front of the house and stopped. The girl told police that the woman was wearing a hot pink shirt. The woman allegedly motioned with her hand for the girl to approach her. The 10-year-old ran inside the house to get her mother.
The suspect than pulled about 50 feet down the road. An 8-year-old girl was pushing her bicycle out of a barn when she saw the woman, who also tried to wave her over to the vehicle, police said.
When the family dog started barking loudly, the suspect sped off in the direction of Route 231.
Anyone who might have seen the woman or vehicle is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
