Public invited to see recycling center
The City of Washington will hold a grand opening of the new recycling center at Washington Park, Dunn Avenue, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The recycling center was funded through a grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection and will be open to the public to collect yard waste, such as tree branches, hedge trimmings and leaves.
City officials will highlight other recent improvements at Washington Park, like new tennis courts, a remodeled bathhouse at the swimming pool and a proposed renovation of the park’s main pavilion. Shuttle buses will provide transportation to each site.
