South Strabane police file theft charges
South Strabane Township police filed theft-related charges this week against several people accused of stealing from businesses.
• Donna Bennett, 32, of 828 John St., Langeloth, is charged with two counts of theft by deception for allegedly returning a blender and mixer that were stolen in exchange for two merchandise cards valued at $318 at Walmart, Trinity Point, Aug. 15.
• Brenda L. Ostlund, 48, of 326 Graham St., Belle Vernon, was charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing jewelry valued at $1,050 from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, Aug. 16. She is accused of removing tags and price stickers and putting the items in her purse.
• Rachel R. Phillips, 34, of 128 Christman Ave., Washington, was charged with felony retail theft for allegedly stealing a bottle of suntan lotion valued at $73 from Sunsational Tans, Trinity Point, April 28.
The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
