Allegheny County police have an arrest warrant out for Derrick “Chino” Gallaway, 60, of California, who is wanted in the murder of a motel owner during a robbery in May.

Gallaway is charged with homicide, robbery, theft, tampering with evidence and illegal possession of a weapon in the holdup and fatal shooting of 72-year-old Dehnad Taidei in the Jefferson Hills Motel May 27, according to an online court docket.

Police said they found blood matching the suspect’s DNA after the incident in which Taidei was shot as he fought back against the suspect. A guest staying at the motel was asked by Gallaway if he would help rob the motel owner, but declined to participate, according to the criminal complaint filed Friday.
