The Allegheny County Departments of Public Works and Parks announced restoration will begin on the Round Hill Park duck pond beginning Tuesday. The work includes the removal of sediment, planting aquatic vegetation to raise water quality, improvements along the shoreline and landscape for better access and repairs of the adjacent outlet.

There will be no access to the pond and restrictions to parking will be in place during construction. Park-goers are asked to use caution while in the area through the end of November, when work is scheduled to be completed. The $480,000 project is being done by Pugliano Construction Inc. of Plum.

The 1,101-acre park in Elizabeth Township park features an exhibition farm with animals, soccer fields, picnic shelters, water sprays and walking and bridle trails, open from 8 a.m. to sunset.
