Theft: Shannon Christa Nelson, 30, and Ryan Joseph Fears, 27, both of 145 Third St., Rogersville, were each charged by state police with theft following an incident that happened Oct. 26. Police said the Nelson and Fears found a wallet and cell phone that had been accidentally left in a cart in the Walmart parking lot in Franklin Township. Fears was identified on the store’s surveillance video as having taken the cell phone from the cart and trying to unlock the phone before throwing it in a trash can, the criminal complaint said. Nelson was seen on the video to have taken $40 of cash from the wallet and putting it in her purse before throwing the wallet in the trash. Police filed the charges against them Tuesday.
