Two sisters were arrested Wednesday on warrants obtained by Donora police stemming from a confrontation last month at a home on McCrea Avenue.

Chelsea Ann Rush, 23, of 100 Modisette Ave., Donora, is charged with two counts of simple assault and terroristic threats and one count each of endangering the welfare of children and disorderly conduct. Amanda Rush, 31, of 1209 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged with endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Police were called about 12:40 p.m. Nov. 25 to a home at 523 McCrea for a report of two sisters fighting inside the residence in front of six small children. The fight reportedly followed an argument that began when Amanda Rush commented about her 3-year-old nephew, a son of Chelsea Rush, not being disciplined for bad behavior.

Amanda Rush allegedly charged at Chelsea Rush, and the two had to be separated by others in the home. The two reportedly got into another argument that police said quickly turned physical. The two were again separated. The 3-year-old boy suffered a scrape on his shoulder when he was pushed into an unknown object, police said.

Chelsea Rush allegedly told her sister that she was going to stab her before going into the kitchen and retrieving a knife. She then allegedly chased after her sister, who ran out the door. The women’s mother blocked the door to keep Chelsea Rush away from Amanda Rush. Chelsea Rush then allegedly threatened to stab her 11-year-old niece.

Police said Chelsea Rush went outside and again chased her sister, throwing the knife at her but missing. The two were reportedly fighting in the street, alarming the neighbors, police said. Amanda Rush had her cellphone knocked from her hand by her sister while she was trying to call 911. Police said Chelsea Rush then stomped on the phone, breaking the screen.

Amanda Rush was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment.

Both were arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bonds. The two are scheduled for preliminary hearings Dec. 8
