Police beat Dec. 6
Assault charge: Jeremy Michael Soyring, 20, of 416 S. Central Ave., Canonsburg, is charged by borough police with simple assault and harassment over allegations he held his father to the floor and struck him several times in the face about 11 p.m. Saturday in his residence, court records show. Soyring was placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond set Sunday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Man jailed: Joseph Zyra, 54, of 231 Lanik Road, Somerset Township, is charged by Carroll Township police with operating a bicycle while under the influence of alcohol, making terroristic threats, resisting arrest and obstruction, court records show. Zyra is accused of threatening and struggling with an officer who approached him about 3:20 a.m. Monday on Hazelkirk Road. Zyra was jailed on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Drug case: Kenneth Michael Savko, 44, of 1109 Crest Ave., Charleroi, is charged by state police with possessing 32 stamp bags of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license stemming from a traffic stop about 5:50 p.m. March 26 at 10th Street and Prospect Avenue, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges via summons Friday.
Man jailed: Baron Rodriguez, 38, of 23 Watkins Ave., Donora, is charged by borough police with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and obstruction, court records show. Rodriguez is accused of slamming a door against the foot of a police officer who went to his residence about 3:50 a.m. Saturday to investigate allegations he struck and choked Jennifer Kroskie. Rodriguez was placed in Washington County Jail on $35,000 bond set Sunday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Burglary alleged: Jessica Rose, 23, of 627 Summit Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with burglary and theft over allegations she entered Joseph’s Nursery & Garden Center, 921 Rostraver St., and stole $200 from a cash register Nov. 30, 2014, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Friday for her arrest.
Drug case: Alice Keegan, 44, of 418 Conrad Ave., North Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession, tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police said officers seized three bricks of heroin and 12 stamp bags of the drug from Keegan’s residence when they went there to serve unrelated arrest warrants on her about 1 p.m. Friday. Keegan was placed in Washington County Jail on $250,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Brothers charged: Robert John Rich, 27, of Bethel Park, and Anthony Michael Rich, 23, of 146 Gilkeson Road, Nottingham Township, are charged by state police with simple assault and harassment stemming from a fight the two allegedly had in Anthony Rich’s residence about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, court records show. They are free on $5,000 bonds set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Man jailed: Perry Michael Hamilton, 25, of 118 Air Strip Road, Independence Township, is charged by Rostraver Township police with possession of child pornography, illegal contact with a minor and corruption of minors, court records show. Police accuse Hamilton of receiving in October two online photographs of a topless 13-year-old township girl. Hamilton was placed in Westmoreland County Jail on $25,000 bond set Friday by District Judge Charles Christner.
Theft case: Brian Scott Schmeltz, 35, of 1803 Banning Road, Dawson, is charged by township police with theft of leased services over accusations he rented $850 in scaffolding supplies from Equipment Connection, 1006 Tyrol Boulevard, in July 2015 and did not return the items, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the case in a summons Thursday.

Housley, 38, of 260 Patterson Road, Union Township, is charged by state police with simple assault and harassment over accusations he struck Alicia Joyce in the eye while the two were in a vehicle stopped at the Mon Valley Expressway and Finleyville-Elrama Road about 11:40 p.m. Nov. 30, court records show. Housley was placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond set Sunday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Warrant served: Terrence Michael Boyd, 29, of 1020 Allison Ave., West Mifflin, is charged by city police with making terroristic threats over accusations he threatened to shoot up the Katharine Avenue residence of Stephanie Brown and “put her in a ditch” about 1 a.m. May 29, 2015, court records show. Boyd was placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond set Saturday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Toothbrushes stolen: An employee of Rite Aid on Jefferson Avenue reported to Washington police that a man entered the store Sunday and took toothbrushes and whitening strips worth almost $540, then fled on foot.
Tailgate stolen: A man reported to Washington police that the tailgate of his white 1999 Chevy Silverado was stolen Saturday while the vehicle was parked outside 31 Hanna St.
Threat charges: Anthony Richardson, 35, of 84 W. Wheeling St., was charged by Washington police Monday with making terroristic threats for allegedly threatening to shoot a woman and her child Nov. 21. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Purse stolen: A woman reported to Washington police that her purse, containing credit cards and $600, was stolen from her unlocked vehicle Friday while she was inside Family Dollar on Wylie Avenue.
Gun stolen: An employee of Spossey Hair Center, 530 W. Chestnut St., reported to police that someone entered the business between 1 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. The front glass door was broken, and the inner door was tampered with. The owner discovered a .38-caliber revolver and about $8 in change were stolen.
Marijuana charge: Jaquayla N. Kessler, 27, of 430 Maple Ave., Washington, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop by Washington police Oct. 26 at the intersection of Sumner and Hallam avenues. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Tools stolen: A resident of the 600 block of Henderson Avenue reported several tools, including a jackhammer and drill, were stolen from his front porch after 4 a.m. Saturday.

Driver fled: The driver of a 2003 Nissan Altima failed to stop after his car collided with a vehicle on Jefferson Road at the Bill George Drive intersection at 10:52 p.m. Friday, state police said. Police said the driver of the Nissan failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and was struck in the rear by a vehicle operated by Carol Patton, 63, of Waynesburg. No injuries were reported.
