Police beat Dec. 16
Man charged: Justin Peterson, 35, of Canonsburg, is wanted by Pittsburgh police on charges of simple assault and terroristic threats stemming from a Nov. 17 incident. He was at the office of District Judge David Mark Wednesday on a separate incident and was notified of the charges, Canonsburg police said.
Drug arrest: Deron Ford, 30, of Clairton, was arrested Wednesday by Monongahela police on charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of paraphernalia and driving under suspension. Police said he sold suspected cocaine to a confidential informant in the parking lot of a Finleyville convenience store. He was taken into custody a short time later during a traffic stop. Ford was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Man jailed: Joshua L. Vedder, 30, of 820 Marne Ave., Monongahela, is charged by Monongahela police with loitering, trespassing and stalking his ex-girlfriend in the 100 block of Chess Street late Tuesday and early Wednesday, court records show. Vedder was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set Wednesday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Theft charge: Vanessa D. Buttermore, 22, of Uniontown, was charged by North Franklin police with retail theft after she allegedly stole items valued at $180 from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, Wednesday. She was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and released on $2,500 unsecured bond.
Charged in crash: Marcia Kay Hupp, 61, of 39 Weaver Run Road, Washington, was charged earlier this month by North Franklin police with driving under the influence of alcohol and damage to unattended vehicles and property in connection with a Nov. 10 crash. She is accused of hitting a split-rail fence at 1595 S. Main St. and then hitting a parked vehicle outside 1615 S. Main. Police said her blood-alcohol content was almost twice the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed.
Teen charged: A 14-year-old Washington boy was charged by North Franklin police with disorderly conduct after he allegedly picked up a tip jar and signs, throwing them at a clerk at Pretzels Plus, Washington Crown Center, on Wednesday. He also reportedly almost knocked over the Slush Puppy machine. A girl who was with him also threw signs at the clerk. When he was caught, he refused to identify the girl.
Crash reported: Three drivers refused treatment after a three-vehicle crash Dec. 5 at the intersection of West Chestnut Street and North Ring Road, North Franklin police said. Police said Gerald Pelley, 67, of Barton, Ohio, was driving east on West Chestnut when he went through a red light, hitting a vehicle driven by Jason Robison, 42, of 1229 Wilna St., Washington, and pushing it into a vehicle driven by Steven Whitfield, 37, of 301 N. Shady Ave., Houston.
Threats arrest: Brian James Greer, 44, of 122 Pride Ave., Monessen, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant obtained by North Strabane police on charges of terroristic threats, stalking and harassment. He is accused of calling and sending text messages threatening his estranged wife, who resides in the township. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
