Two charged in alleged home invasion
East Washington police arrested and charged a Washington woman and McKees Rocks man Tuesday in connection with an alleged early morning home invasion.
Police said Morgan Lojek of 211 Lincoln Terrace and Demetric Adams, both 23, entered a home at 81 Hemlock Lane through the front door wearing black bandanas over their faces and demanded cellphones and other valuables. The alleged robbery was reported to police about 3:40 a.m.
Lojek is charged with robbery, conspiracy, burglary, criminal trespass and theft. Adams is charged with robbery, conspiracy, burglary, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, possessing cocaine with intent to deliver and theft.
Patrolman James McKean wrote in identical affidavits of probable cause supporting the charges that a witness told him she was in the living room with two other people when Lojek and Adams came into the house. She said Adams allegedly had a box cutter and took her cellphone from her.
A tenant at the house allegedly had injuries on her hands and arms from the box cutter wielded by Adams, who she said forced her to “navigate the residence for other items of value,” McKean wrote.
A dispatcher told McKean as he was headed to the home that both suspects had left the house.
South Strabane police apprehended Adams as he was running near East Beau Street and North Avenue, according to the affidavit.
McKean said the stolen cellphone, black bandanas and a small amount of cocaine in two small baggies were found along the path Adams allegedly took from the home.
Court documents do not specify how Lojek was taken into custody, and East Washington police didn’t respond to messages seeking comment Tuesday.
Both defendants are being held in Washington County jail. District Judge Traci McDonald set bond for Lojek at $150,000 and bond for Adams at $200,000.
