Two banks were robbed Friday afternoon at Trinity Point Shopping Center, South Strabane Township.

At about 2:12 p.m. a woman walked into Wesbanco and handed the teller a note which demanded money. She did not show a weapon or imply she had one, said South Strabane police chief Don Zofchak.

About fifteen minutes later, a woman entered First Commonwealth Bank, across from Wesbanco, and robbed it.

Police said the same person may be responsible for both robberies.

At both banks, cash was taken, but Zofchak did not disclose the amount. He said the amount was “not substantial.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting police with the investigation.

No arrest has been made, and police are looking at bank surveillance, Zofchak said.
