Police beat Dec. 26
Man charged: State police charged James R. Sickles IV, 21, of 114 First St., Bentleyville, with simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident early Saturday. A woman told police Sickles drove his vehicle into mailboxes on Route 917 and then dragged her from the car by her hair. Sickles, who turned himself in later that day, told police the alleged victim was driving and he left the scene because the car is his and he feared getting in trouble. He was jailed on $15,000 bond.
Harassment charge: Timothy Wise Jr., 36, of 322 Lynn Portal Road, Mt. Pleasant Township, was charged by state police with simple assault and harassment. He allegedly punched his father at 1007 Green St. about 11 p.m. Saturday. Police said the punch knocked Timothy Wise Sr. down and he hit his head on the ground. Police said Wise Jr. was found at his home. He was jailed on $15,000 bond.
Man jailed: State police charged Gary M. Steineman, 55, of 20 Beverly Ave., Hanover Township, with simple assault and harassment. Steineman’s wife told troopers her husband allegedly pulled her to the living room floor by her hair and then punched her three or four times in the faces at a home at 17 Beverly Ave. about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Steineman was jailed on $15,000 bond.
Charges filed: State police arrested and charged Timothy M. Messner, 52, of Imperial, with simple assault and harassment, alleging Messner hit his girlfriend’s adult son several times in the head and face Friday during an argument at his girlfriend’s house on Meneely Road. He was jailed on $5,000 bond.
Drug charges: City police filed identical sets of charges against Sharlene M. Schultz, 25, of 2589 Diane Drive, Canton Township, and Christopher M. Cox, 37, of 850 Beech St., South Strabane Township, including receiving stolen property, drug possession and possessing drug paraphernalia. Police allegedly searched a parked car parked on Ridge Avenue in which the pair were sitting and allegedly found needles, suspected heroin and empty stamp bags. Police said the vehicle was reported stolen. Each was jailed on $5,000 bond.
