Crucible man sentenced for second DUI charge
WAYNESBURG – A Crucible man who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, his second DUI offense in 10 years, was sentenced last week by Greene County Judge Lou Dayich to five years in the county intermediate punishment program.
Benny B. Gephart, 64, of 298 Fifth Ave. pleaded guilty Oct. 20 to DUI and two summary traffic violations.
Cumberland Township police arrested Gephart on Jan. 28 after stopping his vehicle for a traffic violation. He had a blood-alcohol content of 0.182 percent.
As part of his sentence, Gephart was ordered to serve the first 30 days in jail to be followed by 90 days of house arrest. He was deemed eligible for work release. He also was fined $1,550.
