Third man charged in Washington burglary attempt, also prowling
A third man was arrested Tuesday by Washington police in connection with last week’s attempted burglary of a home on Huffman Avenue, as well as break-in attempts at two other residences in the neighborhood.
Luis Cruz, 19, of 92 Murray Ave., Washington, was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on three counts of attempted burglary and one count each of conspiracy and loitering and prowling at night in connection with the Jan. 26 incident on Huffman.
A resident called police after seeing footprints in the snow leading up to his house.
Daquawn Robinson and Marc Wilkerson, both 20 and of Washington, were taken into custody that night after a foot chase that began when police spotted them in the neighborhood.
Police said Cruz admitted Tuesday that he and the other two men tried to get into three homes because they needed money.
Cruz was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. The other suspects also remain in jail on $25,000 bonds. All three are scheduled for a Feb. 10 preliminary hearing before Redlinger.
