AFSCME, county OKs agreement
Employees of the Washington County Juvenile and Adult Probation departments have negotiated at a new contract retroactive to the beginning of the year and extending through Dec. 31, 2018.
Kathleen Bali, director of human resources for the county, announced at the commissioners agenda-setting session Wednesday that wage increases for the Western Pennsylvania Public Employees Council 84, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, will be 2.5 percent in 2016 and 2017 and 3 percent in 2018.
Employees’ contribution to monthly health insurance premiums will be 10 percent this year, 11.5 percent in 2017 and 12.5 percent in the final year of the contract.
The commissioners unanimously approved the contract Thursday meeting.
The new pact affects approximately 20 employees in the adult probation office and 30 people in the juvenile probation department.
