Police beat Feb. 5
Theft arrest: Jade Alexa Rea, 21, of 145 Lone Pine Road, Amwell, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant on a charge of theft filed by state police. She is accused of stealing a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox owned by Sandra Rea, reportedly knowing she did not have permission to drive the vehicle Jan. 16, police said. She was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing will be held Feb. 16 before District Judge Ethan Ward.
Purse stolen: Kellie Lewis of 68 E. Pike St. told Canonsburg police Wednesday her purse containing $75, a debit card and gift cards was stolen from her unlocked vehicle.
Marijuana seized: John E. Gebhardt, 60, of 455 Old Hickory Ridge Road, Chartiers, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. He was charged by state police after marijuana plants were spotted growing on his property during aerial surveillance Sept. 22. Police said he was seen picking up one of the plants and carrying it to his house. They said they found the plants on the porch when they went to his residence. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
Woman injured: Patricia Sutherland, 70, of Greensburg, was injured Jan. 28 when the vehicle in which she was a passenger, driven by Gerald Sutherland, 73, of Greensburg, was struck by another vehicle on Interstate 79 southbound near the Houston exit in Chartiers. The driver of the other vehicle fled, state police said. Sutherland was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
Assault arrest: Jules Redman, 50, of 15 Meriage St., Mt. Pleasant, was arrested Wednesday by township police after he allegedly assaulted Margaret Zombeck during a confrontation at their home. Police were called to their home earlier that night for another disturbance, citing both with disorderly conduct. Redman was taken to a friend’s home but later returned and allegedly assaulted Zombeck and threatened to kill her. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Drug charge: Dillon Oliver, 23, of 2021 Beham Ridge Road, Claysville, will be charged with possession of heroin after he reportedly overdosed on the drug in a bathroom at McDonald’s, 1294 W. Chestnut St., Tuesday, North Franklin police said. According to police, Oliver was found with five stamp bags of the suspected drug.
Paraphernalia charge: Travis Wolfe, 25, of 172 Prigg Road, Canton Township, will be charged with possession of paraphernalia after he was found with items in his vehicle Saturday, North Franklin police said.
Theft charge: Francis T. Gradischek, 47, of Champion, will be charged by North Franklin police with retail theft after he allegedly stole items from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, Sunday.
Trespass charge: Richard Jerome Griffith, 26, of Stockhart Street, Brownsville, will be charged by Rostraver police with retail theft and defiant trespass after he allegedly stole items from Walmart, 100 Sara Way, on Sunday. The charges will be filed at the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Theft arrest: Joseph E. Gallagher, 18, of 106 Dallas St., Bentleyville, was arrested Wednesday by state police on charges of theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole a 1990 Ford F250 from Robert Branch of Somerset. Police said they spotted Gallagher near the stolen truck. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Man robbed: Adolph Crosby, 56, told Washington police early Thursday three men assaulted and robbed him at his home in the 900 block of Arch Street. He told police he heard a knock on his door. When he opened it, the three men were standing there and told him they were there to collect $300. He said they forced their way in, assaulted him and took $200 to $300 from his pocket.
Harassment charge: Michael Mickler of 385 Allison Ave. will be charged by Washington police with harassment after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend, Jennifer Williams of New Eagle, by the throat during a confrontation at his home early Thursday.
Truck stolen, found: David Gaito of Washington told Washington police his blue 1995 Dodge Dakota was stolen early Thursday from the parking lot of GetGo, 104 E. Wylie Ave. He said he walked away from the truck and then heard the door open before seeing two men get inside and drive off. The truck was found a short distance away. Gaito said a cellphone that did not belong to him was left behind in the truck.
Prescription pad stolen: The office manager of Occupational Medicine, 95 Leonard Ave., told Washington police Wednesday a prescription pad was stolen from the work station of a physician assistant.
