• Date: Feb. 4
• Action: The board contracted with Schultheis Electric for labor, equipment and materials to rewire panels in the Family Court Center to connect them with an emergency power generator at a cost of $32,315, which will be paid through a prior bond issue.
At the request of the planning department, the commissioners renewed a $20-per-acre lease with Nick Petronka to plant and harvest hay from 8.4 acres behind the health center through March of next year. Also at the request of planners, the board agreed to conduct both household hazardous waste and used tire collections at dates to be announced.
The board approved a $1,000 fee for a training course, plus travel, for juvenile probation officers March 6-7 in New Jersey.
On behalf of the sheriff’s department, the commissioners agreed to purchase two vehicles from Day Ford Inc., Monroeville, through a state contract that does not require bidding. A Ford Interceptor utility vehicle will cost $36,131 and an Interceptor sedan will cost $32,951. The new vehicles will replace two of the oldest in the fleet.
