Pennsylvania man pleads guilty to role in drug ring
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) – A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to participating in a ring that sold heroin and prescription drugs in West Virginia.
Kalif Briggs faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. The 33-year-old resident of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court in Clarksburg to aiding and abetting the distribution of oxycodone.
U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II says in a news release that Briggs sold heroin in Monongalia County in 2014.
Briggs was one of 21 people indicted in November 2014 on charges stemming from an operation that transported drugs from Philadelphia to Morgantown.
