ALLENTOWN (AP) — An eastern Pennsylvania man is heading to prison after admitting he mixed alcohol and prescription medications when he drove drunk and ran over his wife.

The Morning Call of Allentown reports Edward Clark Jr. was sentenced Tuesday to one to seven years in prison.

The 68-year-old Allentown resident pleaded guilty in December to drunken driving and aggravated assault stemming from several incidents.

Police say Clark and his wife were arguing in their driveway last January when he ran her over, throwing her to the pavement. She suffered several broken bones.

He was arrested again in June after hitting five mailboxes with his 10-year-old son in the pickup.

Clark told a Lehigh County judge he hopes his wife forgives him.
