Three Washington men accused of trying to break into three homes in the Huffman Avenue area of Washington last month waived their cases to court Wednesday.

DaQuawn Robinson and Marc Wilkerson, both 20, were taken into custody Jan. 26 after a brief foot chase. A resident of Huffman called Washington police after seeing footprints in the snow leading to his house.

Luis Cruz, 19, was arrested Feb. 2 after he allegedly admitted his involvement to city police. Police said the three also tried to break into two other homes. Cruz allegedly told police that they needed money.

All three had been scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger. They are charged with three counts each of attempted burglary and one count each of loitering and prowling at night and conspiracy. Robinson and Wilkerson also are charged with carrying a firearm without a license and flight to avoid apprehension.

Redlinger amended bond for the three men at their hearing. Cruz’s bond was reduced from $25,000 to $1,000, and he was to be released from Washington County Jail on Wednesday. Robinson and Wilkerson now have $25,000 percentage bonds.

All three are scheduled to be formally arraigned April 21.
